Auto Transport Tips: Shipping Vehicles to Alaska
Alaska is about as remote as you can get when it comes to auto transport, so much so that no carrier will travel through Canada to take your car up to Alaska. This means that the only way to transport your personal vehicle to or from Seward’s Folly is to have it shipped overseas. This can complicate the shipping process because it introduces a second shipper, the port shipper, into the mix. We will coordinate the entire move with all shippers involved – this usually includes the port shipper, who will transport your vehicle from the port in Alaska to or from the port in Washington State, as well as any carrier who takes your vehicle to or from the port via overland transport (say, if you needed to move your vehicle from St. Louis, MO, to Alaska, we would dispatch a carrier to pick your vehicle up in St. Louis, transport it to the port, and then release it to the port shipper who would then ship it overseas to Alaska).
