Auto Transport – Quality Customer Service

5/5

Auto Transport in Ohio by Cruise ControlOhio has a population of over 11 million people, making it the 7th largest state in the Union in terms of population; however, as the 34th largest state in terms of total area, its population density ranks 10th in the nation, which makes it a popular auto transport area for that reason alone. Admitted as the 17th U.S. state in 1817, manufacturing boomed in the state during the 19th and early 20th centuries before the U.S. economy began shifting away from manufacturing and more towards retail and other service-based sectors.

Because of its numerous metropolitan areas and strong ties to transportation and logistics economic sectors Ohio has a very large network of roads and highways that carriers can utilize to transport their customers’ vehicles for them. I-70, I-76, I-80 and I-90 are all major east-west interstate highways which make Ohio a major stop on east-west cross-country routes. I-71, I-75 and I-77 are all major north-south interstates that service much of the Midwest and Great Lakes regions, which Ohio fits right in the middle of. Because of Ohio’s location geographically it has always been a major location for transportation and logistics and currently has numerous transportation companies headquartered within its borders.

Summers are typically hot and humid throughout the state which makes it a popular auto transport location along with its robust transportation network. Typical highs in the state reach into the upper-80’s to low-90’s during the day, though in the winter months temperatures drop drastically, with snow common in even the largest metropolitan areas. Finding transportation to Ohio during the depths of the winter season can be expensive and might take a bit longer, depending on who is running routes up there during the cold season. However, you may be able to find some decent deals shipping during the fall or early winter, before the snow and cold weather comes, as many carriers will be heading down south to run along more southern routes.

Though manufacturing still dominates the state’s economy, much of the manufacturing in the state has been driven out by the drastic economic changes of the 1970’s and 80’s. The economy of Ohio has long been based on manufacturing and mining, though in recent years – and in response to a crippling state-wide depression that lasted for close to twenty years – the state’s economy has diversified into such sectors as financial and banking services, insurance, biotechnology research and development, and, of course, retail. Ohio’s growth over the past decade has seen a resurgence in its status as an American economic powerhouse – it currently ranks seventh among all 50 states in terms of economy size, and today Ohio is considered to be in the top 5 best business climates in the U.S.
